Why Life on the Point ?

The phrase Life on the Point has a lot of meaning for me. It means getting clear about what really matters, then designing and living our lives accordingly, professionally and personally.

In the spring of 2002, I was looking for a place on Lake Champlain where I could create a special getaway for my young family and me. My brother introduced me to an elderly, widowed friend who had such a place he was getting ready to sell. The couple hadn’t been able to take care of the house as they aged. It was in rough shape and needed a complete renovation. But the location - a gorgeous little spot on a south facing point, surrounded by water on three sides - was something so beautiful only Mother Nature would have conceived it. My response was visceral. I could feel in my heart an immediate, deep connection to this place. After a lot of work, this little house became home, literally and figuratively.

Since then, I have been through divorce, job changes, family members suffering from addiction, interstate moves, a house fire, the deaths of loved ones, in and out of the paid workforce, difficult bosses, difficult employees, grad school, leading an event-based nonprofit through Covid, remarriage, blending families…and much joy.

Living Life on the Point means living with understanding and purpose, and finding peace in that, even when we have to sit in discomfort.

Living Life on the Point means moving forward with determination, intention, and positivity in the direction we want to go, achieving the goals we set along the way.

How can I help you?

I’m a thought partner for people who yearn to lead from the head and the heart.

I work with all kinds of people at all stages of career and life. The thing they have in common is that they see themselves as leaders.

It can also be delightful.
Life is change.

Did the universe throw you an unexpected curveball?
Is there a critical project or deadline looming?
Do you need to write an important message? Or maybe make a meaningful speech?
What goal haven’t you been able to get after?

I can help.

Together, we face and conquer your challenges and leverage your opportunities.

If you want to move your life forward, I‘m your person.

Qualifications & Achievements

  • Education: After earning my BA in Political Science and Education at Wellesley College, I charted a winding career path of positions with increasing leadership responsibilities. As a single mother of two in my early 40s, I attended Dartmouth’s Guarini Graduate School, earning a self-designed masters in writing while also taking classes at the business school.

  • Speaking and Writing: In addition to industry newsletters, collateral marketing pieces, and organizational development leadership communications, I wrote an article about the haunting artistic creativity and social impact of Anna Schuleit, MacArthur Award Fellow. I’ve presented at two national conferences on, respectively, the importance of civic education and a blueprint for growth in the snowsport industry. The similar acronyms make me smile for no particular reason: NASS (Secretaries of State) and NSAA (snow sports)

  • Boards and Associations: I served 11 years on the local elementary and district school boards. I’m currently in my second board term at a community non-profit that provides needed services to the elderly and people with disabilities. I also sit on the advisory board of Women in Leadership of the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business.

  • Professional Affiliations: As a member of the International Coaching Federation, I’ll achieve my Associate Level Certification, in addition to a Leadership and Performance Coach Certification from Brown University School of Professional Studies / ACT.
